I look forward to helping you on your journey to a better life. Here are some practical matters to let you know how I work.

I work on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday between noon and 7:00 in the evening. Appointments are generally 50 minutes. We can schedule appointments at a repeating time or they can be set from week to week. Many people prefer to meet weekly, but every other, or every third week can be effective as well.

Privacy and Confidentiality
Your privacy is extremely important to me because you should feel comfortable and confident during your sessions. I conduct my practice according to the guidelines of the American Psychological Association. It is imperative to our work together that your conversations with me are protected and kept confidential. If you have any questions about this issue please ask me. We will discuss issues of confidentiality in our first session.
There are some limits to confidentiality imposed by the government, i.e. child abuse. The limits are intended to protect people from harm. I will explain them in our first session. Please ask if you have questions.
You can see my Privacy Policy at this link.

I am happy to bill your insurance if that is your preferred method of payment. I am a preferred provider for some insurance companies, but certainly not all. Prior to your initial consultation appointment, I ask that you contact your insurance company and request an authorization from them. Some policies will not require this but it is important that you have covered your bases. When you call your insurance company, you will also want to get information about what your co-pay will be, how many sessions you can have each year, and what your deductible will be.
Insurance companies often ask for information regarding your progress. They routinely request the dates of your sessions, your diagnosis, and sometimes they ask for information regarding your progress and symptoms. Think about this and ask questions if you are concerned about your privacy.

My standard fee is $145 for a 50 minute session.
I have made agreements with many insurance companies and accept their payment schedules. I understand that therapy can be costly, so I have some flexibility in my fees for clients who have financial needs. Please discuss with me your concerns.
I see a limited number of clients each year through the Psychology 2000 program with the San Diego Psychological Association. The Psychology 2000 program is for working people with low income and no health insurance. For each hour the client volunteers in the community, I will donate one hour of therapy.
